Fans Did Not Like The National Anthem Before Brazil’s Eagles-Packers Game

After an incredible NFL Kickoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, NBC is back at it again on Friday night as they stream the first-ever NFL game in Brazil and South America between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers at Corinthians Arena.

This move to Brazil is part of the league's ongoing strategy to expand its global presence and engage new fans outside of the United States.

Corinthians Arena has been host to some of the world's biggest events, including the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2014 World Cup. Now, it gets to try its luck with a new sport as the NFL comes to town.

Before the game, São Paulo-raised singer Zeeba performed the American National Anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." Zeeba was born in San Diego, California, but spent the majority of his childhood in Brazil.

After the national anthem performance hit social media, NFL fans were not impressed, leaving jokes about Zeeba's rendition and criticizing it online.

"ill be the first to say, this performance was buns," one fan said.

"Literally the worst rendition ever. Don't ever do this to our National Anthem again NFL pay for talent please."

Both the Eagles and the Packers have their sights set on the Super Bowl. Last season, the Eagles ended on a low note, losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.

The Packers had a much different postseason experience, upsetting the Dallas Cowboys in round one and nearly pulling off another upset in the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers.
