One injured in shooting on northwest side of Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa — One person was injured in a shooting on the northwest side of Des Moines Friday night.

At around 8:25 p.m. the Des Moines Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a shooting with a victim in the 3700 block of 57th Street, near Merle Hay Mall. According to a DMPD post on X , officers on scene found one injured individual. The victim’s condition is not known at this time.

Police said the scene is secure and that the public should expect an increased law enforcement presence in the area. No other information has been released.
