It’s right around this time of year my family and I start talking about tubing. My love for it started when I went to college at Southwestern Community College. There are plenty of rivers to float down in the western part of the state.

Just one North Carolina river made USA Today’s list of best tubing spots in the country, but I think they missed one!

Just 1 North Carolina River Ranked Best for Tubing

USA Today released their “10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards” for top tubing rivers. Coming in at number 10 is the French Broad River in Asheville. It’s one of the oldest rivers in the world, offering scenic float spots in the River Arts District, Marshall, and Rosman.

    Our Favorite: The Green River

While the French Broad made the list, my family prefers the Green River near Lake Lure and Tryon. It’s perfect for families, offering not only relaxing floats but also some exciting whitewater. We tie our tubes together and float for hours, enjoying the mountain views and cool water.

    What Do You Think?

Do you agree with USA Today’s pick of the French Broad, or do you have a tubing spot you think deserves more attention? Share your thoughts!

Full of homeless needles, feces, chemicals from all the farmers who think they don’t have to keep the stream running through their property clean, and cow poo! 💩
