Well, get the cylinder count right to start with. The engine shown is the hi-po version of the 194.5 cu.in. 4 cylinder engine (half a 389 V8). Also, the 61-63 Tempest, Olds F-85, and Buick Special were compacts, not mid-size cars. The first mid-size cars on the market were the down-sized Chrysler products and the 62-69 Ford Fairlane and Mercury Comet. The Tempest, F-85 and Spe ial were all available with a 215 cu.in. aluminum V8. The Tempest 4 cylinder came with either a 1bbl or a 4bbl carb. The Tempest differed from its siblings in that it used a transaxle mounted in rear, driven by a flexible shaft. The F-85 and the Special had conventional transmissions and driveshafts. The Tempest shared the Corvair floorpan.

4 cyl with a transaxle (half a 389) or a 140hp single barrel 6, DeLorean fixed that a couple years later.
