Malibu, CA – Supermodel Karlie Kloss and her venture capitalist husband, Joshua Kushner, have made headlines with their latest purchase: the iconic "Wave House" in Malibu, California. Bought for $29.5 million, the stunning mid-century modern property had not been on the market for 36 years. The home, originally listed at $49.5 million in June 2023, was acquired at a significant discount.

The "Wave House" is more than just a luxury residence—it’s an architectural masterpiece with a story as compelling as its design. Created by renowned architect Harry Gesner in the 1960s, the home was inspired by the natural beauty of the ocean. Gesner, a surfer, sketched its unique wave-like design while sitting on his surfboard in the Pacific. The result was a home that mimics the graceful curves of cresting waves, making it a seamless part of its coastal surroundings.

The house has a rich history of celebrity ownership. It was once the residence of rock legend Rod Stewart, who sold it in 1989 to music executive Mo Austin, the visionary behind Warner Bros. Records. Austin, who passed away in 2022, had owned the home for over three decades.

Spanning 6,400 square feet across two levels, the property boasts six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Its upper floor includes five bedrooms with panoramic ocean views, while the beachfront primary suite is a private oasis with a hot tub and sauna. Kushner, founder of the venture capital firm Thrive Capital, is known for backing major tech companies such as Instagram, GitHub, and Spotify. Kloss, beyond her supermodel career, runs Kode With Klossy, a nonprofit aimed at empowering young women through coding education.
