An Australian Shepherd has the cutest reaction after meeting the neighbor's Poodle, and it's full of happy energy.

On September 5, 2024, TikTok user Ranger the Aussie (@ranger.the.aussie5) shared a video of the moment the sweet Australian Shepherd met the neighbor's Poodle. Take a look!

In a quick video shared to TikTok, we meet Ranger , an Australian Shephard who might have just found his very best friend.

"Ranger finally got the courage to approach our neighbor's sweet Poodle," the text on the video reads. "He was so excited that he started running in circles."

In the clip, Ranger, a black-and-white Australian Shephard , is in his backyard, and in the neighbor's yard, separated by a fence, is a really cute black Poodle.

Ranger approached the fence and the Poodle very slowly. Right when he got really close to the Poodle, he turned around and had to run out of his happy zoomies.

Ranger then starts running around in his yard, doing circles, and really showing off his fun personality and speed for his new friend, the next-door Poodle.

It sounds like it's taken a little while for these two dogs to meet and say hello to each other, and this might have been the closest they've gotten so far.

"They even sniffed noses you guys!" the video's catpion read. And in the comments, people had a lot of fun watching Ranger and his cute zoomie circles.

One wrote, "Herding his own excitement."

Another shared, "Those are 'come play zoomies.'"

Someone else added, "This is precious."

    One explained, "Omg, adorbs."

Someone else wrote, "Absolutely adorable, beautiful, precious baby."

Australian Shepherd Dogs Are Great at Herding

According to the American Kennel Club , Australian Shepherd dogs are known as herding dogs and are really good at it. Describing this breed as "smart, work-oriented, [and] exuberant," we can see all those qualities in this video clip with Ranger.

"Fixtures on the rodeo circuit, they are closely associated with the cowboy life. The Australian Shepherd, the cowboy's herding dog of choice, is a medium-sized worker with a keen, penetrating gaze in the eye," the club writes.

"Aussies exhibit an irresistible impulse to herd anything: birds, dogs, kids. This strong work drive can make Aussies too much dog for a sedentary pet owner. Aussies are remarkably intelligent, quite capable of hoodwinking an unsuspecting novice owner," the American Kennel Club explains.

The club says that these dogs are in the middle of the pack when it comes with being good with other dogs, probably because they like to herd, and not all dogs like to be herded. But this breed is great with young children and affectionate with family but not too clingy.

Hopefully, Ranger can meet the next-door neighbor Poodle again, and they can strike up a great friendship.
