Following his WWE departure, MVP made headlines after revealing his latest run with the company didn’t end on good terms, going as far as to call his former boss Triple H a “ coward and a liar ” while replying to Instagram comments. However, thanks to social media, this somehow resulted in it being reported that Triple H was racist.

And now, while participating in a virtual autograph signing , MVP has addressed these reports, clarifying that he never said this, although he did suggest he feels Triple H doesn’t book black wrestlers as strongly as he could.

“I didn’t say that. Now, my opinion on how he books talent of color, that’s a different conversation, but I never said the man was racist. … I don’t know what his motivations are, but I never said he was racist.”

50-year-old MVP returned to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble match and subsequently wrestled Rey Mysterio the following night on Raw. At the time, it was believed this would be his in-ring swansong, but he would actually end up being re-hired following favorable fan feedback. From there, he formed The Hurt Business stable, which, for a time, was one of the highlights of WWE television, although they would disband far sooner than most fans wanted.
