Sherrone Moore Facing Intense Backlash for Michigan QB Decision Amid Texas Game

The Michigan Wolverines are off to a rough start to the 2024 college football season following their National Championship victory.

The home-team Wolverines trail the visiting Texas Longhorns 24-3 at the halftime break. The Michigan defense has been unable to slow star quarterback Quinn Ewers and the Texas player makers, and Wolverines QB Davis Warren has struggled mightily to get their offense going.

Warren entered the halftime locker room with just 49 passing yards and an interception on 8-11 passing.

This marks a huge drop-off in quarterback production for a team that rostered J.J. McCarthy last season.

Head coach Sherrone Moore and Michigan decision makers are taking a great deal of heat for not landing a big-name quarterback in this year's transfer portal.

"Can someone smarter than me explain why Michigan didn’t go harder for a QB in the portal," one fan asked.

"I'm so curious what Michigan decision-makers saw to make them feel cool with not grabbing a QB transfer this offseason," another said.

"There is like no way Davis Warren is Michigan’s best option at QB right? Are we getting punk’d?" another wrote.

"Don't know if they would have admitted it, but when Michigan didn't add a portal QB, lost so much OL and didn't add an impact WR, I think every fan had a fear that the offense might just be really, really bad this fall Barring a drastic change, that looks like the reality," another added.

Unless Warren turns things around in the second half, it appears the Wolverines could be in for a long season at the quarterback position.
