The Minnesota Vikings elevated two players from its practice squad on Saturday ahead of the team's Week 1 matchup against the New York Giants.

Both players aren't likely to see the field but are added as insurance depth pieces in case injuries occur.

The team said running back Myles Gaskin and safety Bobby McCain will join the team at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Gaskin led the Vikings with 128 rushing yards in the preseason on 27 carries and added four receptions for 16 yards. He provides depth behind Ty Chandler and Aaron Jones, resulting in three tailbacks on the team's 53-man roster.

He also provides the team an option at the kick returner position as he's returned three kickoffs for 55 yards during the preseason.

Gaskin signed with the Vikings late last year. He was released at the end of training camp but was re-signed to the team's practice squad ahead of the 2024 season.

McCain has 131 career NFL games under his belt, including 10 played last season for the Giants. He signed with the Vikings in July after spending time with the Giants, Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins.

The veteran will provide some depth behind safeties Harrison Smith, Camryn Bynum, Josh Metellus, Theo Jackson and Jay Ward.
