Faking a play happens quite often in college football.

There are plays meant to fake a handoff when a team wishes to go into play action. There are plays when the quarterback fakes a pass to catch the defense off guard and find an open wide receiver.

Then there are very few times when a team decides to fake a field goal, and on top of that, score a touchdown to add insult to injury against their opponent.

This happened Saturday afternoon during the fourth quarter involving the Florida Atlantic University Owls, also known as FAU, and the Army Black Knights.

Army came into Boca Raton making their debut in conference play as a new member of the American Athletic Conference. They replaced the Southern Methodist University Mustangs, better known as SMU, who left for the Atlantic Coast Conference after 10 years in the league.

In their AAC debut, they impressed by terrorizing FAU with the triple option, gaining over 370 rushing yards in contrast to the Owls' rushing for just over 40 yards.

They decided to put a dagger in the hearts of FAU and Owl fans in the fourth quarter. On fourth down with a 17-7 lead, Army could've settled for a field goal.

But it turns out they had other plans. Army's Matthew Rhodes, usually a punter as he served as a holder in this play, faked the field-goal attempt as he grabbed the ball and ran all the way to the left side of the end zone to grow the Black Knights' lead to 24-7.

It's an incredible moment to remember for Rhodes, scoring his first career touchdown in a way that will amaze college football fans everywhere.

It also sums up the great first impression that Army is making throughout their first two games of the season. Nice work by the AAC for including them this year.

The Black Knights lead the Owls 24-7 with less than five minutes remaining in the game.
