Cleveland's defense will give the Dallas offense all it wants. In his NFL Week 1 ATS picks , Vinnie Iyer writes, "The Browns' defense flexed last season with Myles Garrett, and it will go to work on a reworked Cowboys' offensive line protecting Dak Prescott. This promising passing affair between Prescott and Deshaun Watson becomes a low-scoring, mistake-filled grinder, which favors the home team."
Iyer picks the Browns to win 20-17 and cover ATS. His colleague Bill Bender is fading Cleveland . Bender writes, "Deshaun Watson has just as much on the line from a perception standpoint as Dak Prescott. CeeDee Lamb ended his holdout, and that could impact the line leading up to kickoff. This is a game we would probably stay away from otherwise, but pressed for a pick, we'll take a small upset."
Bender's got the Cowboys winning 21-20. What about the total? TSN's Tony Mejia believes the game will be decided by turnovers and finish UNDER 42.5 points. Mejia writes, "Expect a patient approach to be employed by both attacks. Adding to the likelihood that points won’t be easy to come by will be wind gusts in the 20-30 mile per hour range that are expected to be part of the backdrop for this crucial opener. Ride the low side on 42.5 points."

Rams vs. Lions betting analysis & picks

The Rams will try to erase memories of their 24-23 loss at Detroit in last year's playoffs. Matthew Stafford returns to Detroit, where he played the bulk of his NFL career. Jared Goff faces his former team, which he carried to a Super Bowl win in 2022.
TSN's Mejia is projecting the game to go OVER this lofty total. He writes,"Given that the number for the ‘24 season opener is a few points lower (than the playoff meeting), Aaron Donald is gone and explosive Detroit RB Jahmyr Gibbs will play, the total for this Sunday night rematch should be cleared."
Looking to bet a side? Bender suggests considering the home team here. He writes that Detroit's "running game will be a difference in the fourth quarter. Dan Campbell elects for field goals to put the game away late, and newcomer Jake Bates is on the mark."
