Talk about getting things done in the eleventh hour! Football Sunday is officially shining down upon us all and deals are still getting done. Before the Cowboys quarterback could even step on the field today; his bank account gets a makeover. An announcement was heralded that the dynamic quarterback is now locked in for the next few seasons. Yes, QB Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys officially agrees to a four year $240 million contract making him the highest paid NFL player ever.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on the mega contract. He mentions,

“A deadline deal: Hours before Dallas kicked off its season, it reached agreement with QB Dak Prescott on a four-year contract, $240 million extension that will make him the highest-paid player in NFL history and keep him in a Cowboys uniform for seasons to come, per sources.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added to the extension conversation. Providing intel on how much is guaranteed. Ian reveals,

“The [Dallas] Cowboys and QB Dak Prescott have a deal! He gets a 4-year deal worth a record $240 Million with $231 Million guaranteed, per me and Tom Pelissero.

Owner Jerry Jones and agent Todd France and his team from Athletes First closed it out. The NFL’s biggest question answered.”

Well, Dak wanted the opportunity to not only stay with the Cowboys; but get paid for his efforts on the field. For Prescott, both wishes are now fulfilled. In a very large way.

And the guy couldn’t be more overjoyed over the outcome. Heck he’s got over 200 million reasons to be. Nevertheless, NFL Network’s Jane Slater briefly got a moment to catch up with Dak; and get his thoughts on the extension. Slater reports,

“Cowboys QB Dak Prescott tells me he learned of the new deal 30 minutes ago. Knew the convos were intensifying in the last 2 days but his team was handling it while he was working on game prep. Prescott obviously thrilled it’s done. The goal was to always remain a Cowboy.”

Awesome. Well, Dak has even more motivation to play at a high level this season. The Cowboys franchise has shown that they believe in him. Moreover, they see him as an integral contributor to their future success. Thus, hopefully making the playoffs and bringing Dallas another championship at long last.

Cowboys are done. I don’t go anymore to Cowboys game. Don’t want to give my hard earned money to demented Jones. No more.
