Super Bowl LIX Halftime Performer Revealed

Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the NFL announced Sunday (September 8) morning.

"My name's Kendrick Lamar, and I'll be performing at Super Bowl LIX," Lamar said in a clip shared on his YouTube account showing him launching footballs out of a JUGS machine on a field with the backdrop of a large American flag. "Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos. Let's get it."

"I wouldn't want you to miss it," Lamar added. "Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too even if you're watching from home."

Lamar, 37, had previously performed at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in Los Angeles alongside Dr. Dre , Snoop Dogg , Eminem , Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent . The announcement comes months after Lamar, already widely regarded as one of hip-hop's best emcees for the past decade, was involved in a publicized rap beef with Drake , which saw the Compton native releasing several tracks directed at the Canadian rapper, including the hit single ' Not Like Us .'

Lamar has won 17 GRAMMY Awards, the third-most ever won by a rapper, the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music, becoming the first non-classical or jazz artist to do so, a Primetime Emmy Award and 29 BET Hip Hop Awards, the most ever won by an artist, among numerous others.
