‘Stop it!’ Nikki Haley Hits JD Vance for His ‘Not Helpful’ Comments About Childless Women

Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley called out Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) over his numerous unearthed comments about childless women.

In an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation Sunday, moderator Margaret Brennan confronted Haley about comments vance made in 2021 — in which the GOP vice presidential nominee attacked American Teachers Union president Randi Weingarten .

“If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone,” Vance said.

Brennan pressed Haley about the remark.

“He continues to say things that certainly are highlighted as being offensive to women,” Brennan said — alluding to other recently unearthed comments, including Vance criticizing “childless cat ladies” in 2021 . “That is going to hurt, won’t it, with female voters?”

“It’s not helpful,” Haley said. “It’s not helpful.”

“Is he an effective messenger for the policies you say they are stronger on?” Brennan asked.

“You can either look at style or you can look at substance,” Haley replied. “I choose as a voter to look at substance.”

“What’s the substance of that, though?” Brennan said, interjecting.

“The substance is cutting taxes, making housing more affordable, immigration, national security, that’s the substance,” Haley replied. “The style is- no, it is not helpful to talk about whether women have children or whether they don’t. It’s not helpful to say any of those things that are personality driven or anything else. I have said that, and I will continue to say to Republicans, stop it! That’s not helpful.”

Haley, earlier in the interview , declared herself willing and available to campaign for former Donald Trump — despite the rancorous GOP primary battle between the two — but added that she has not yet been asked.
