Dakota Johnson Says She "Basically" Overdosed On Caffeine Because She Didn't Know Celsius Was An Energy Drink

Another day, another revelation from the one and only Dakota Johnson .

In a recent interview with Variety around the Toronto International Film Festival debut of the short film she recently directed, Loser Baby , Dakota revealed that she discovered Celsius energy drinks while making the short.

Here's the thing, though: She didn't know that Celsius is an energy drink. Yes, really.

She told the publication she "discovered" the drink on the first day of shooting. "I didn’t know that it was Red Bull,” Dakota admitted.

Dakota went on to say that she initially believed the drink was "just vitamins" and a “natural drink” because the can's nutritional facts says it has “B12 and vitamin A.”

“I was like, ‘I'm so inspired. I'm awake all night long,'" she recalled, conceding that she was "not sleeping" due to the fact that she was consuming "like, two Celsius a day.”

“I didn't realize that I was basically overdosing on caffeine."

Eventually, an on-set costume designer broke the news to Dakota that she was essentially consuming "four Red Bulls a day." Dakota described that revelation as "really upsetting."

"But now I know that in dire straits, there’s Celsius," she joked. "And I’m looking for an endorsement, I’m your girl. Night shoots, they work really well.”
