Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson is amid an incredible season. Widely considered the WNBA MVP frontrunner, Wilson entered Sunday averaging 27.3 points and 11.9 rebounds on an incredible 52.7 percent from the field. Also blocking a league-best 2.7 shots per game, Wilson has done it on both ends.

It was announced on Sunday that Wilson had been ruled out against the New York Liberty due to a leg injury. Speaking with reporters before the game, Aces head coach Becky Hammon revealed a major update on the star center.

Via ESPN's Alexa Philippou, Hammon revealed Wilson's imaging came back clear and there are no longterm absence concerns.

This update comes ahead of a highly anticipated game between the Aces and Indiana Fever on Wednesday. While Wilson is the heavy favorite to win WNBA MVP, some have argued Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has played herself into that discussion in recent weeks.

Entering Sunday averaging 24.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 47/40/93 splits since the Olympic break, Clark has led Indiana to a 7-2 record in those games.

Wednesday's game between Indiana and Las Vegas could also be a potential playoff preview.

Entering Sunday's game against New York, the Aces trail the third seed Connecticut Sun by just one game in the WNBA standings. With Indiana entering Sunday in sole possession of the sixth seed, their first round matchup could very well come against Las Vegas.

With Hammon's update on Sunday, it seems Wilson could return to the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Clark and the Fever.
