One injured after weekend shooting at Upstate Apartments

One person was injured in a weekend shooting at an Upstate apartment complex. The Spartanburg Police Department responded to the Sonic on East Main Street, just after 1130 Saturday night.

Upon arrival, officers found a man on the ground outside the Sonic suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say employees reported that the man came to the restaurant and told them he had been shot.

He reportedly asked to use the phone to call his mother and asked them not to call 911. The man dialed his mother and she then called 911. The man told police he had been shot at a nearby apartment complex.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to be okay. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, as of the time of this report.
