As JAY-Z calls Kendrick Lamar “a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Lil Wayne ’s manager, Fabian Marasciullo , is condemning the decision to name K.Dot headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans.

As we shared earlier, Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL announced that Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar has been tapped to headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, Louisiana. Super Bowl LIX is currently scheduled to be played on February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome and will air on Fox.
Speaking on the amazing feat, Lamar said, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.” Lamar continued, “What’s the deal, everybody? My name’s Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship, no round twos… I wouldn’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home.”

Commenting on Kendrick Lamar being chosen to headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Roc Nation founder JAY-Z said, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Like many people across social media, Lil Wayne’s engineer and manager Fabian Marasciullo, spoke out and condemned the decision to have Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show instead of his client who is from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Marasciullo said, “Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all. Inspired. Will never again be in a position or have the [goat emoji] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”
To note, this will be Kendrick Lamar’s second time performing during a Super Bowl halftime show. He previously joined the stage during Dr. Dre ’s 2022 All-Star performance featuring himself, Snoop Dogg , Eminem , 50 Cent , and Mary J. Blige . The news of Lamar’s newest feat arrives after his rap battle with Toronto rapper Drake earlier this year. The viral feud not only resulted in a huge win for Lamar but also spawned one of his biggest songs yet “Not Like Us.”
