The New York Giants (0-1) put together an embarrassing effort in a 28-6 loss against the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

The disastrous home opener signals another brutal season is likely in tow for the Giants, and fans didn't hide their disdain for the struggling organization.

Giants fans let the team hear it, showering the field with boos as Sam Darnold carved up the Giants defense, and Daniel Jones finished the day with two interceptions and a 44.3 passer rating.

Giants star defensive tackle, one of the few defenders to make a tangible impact, didn't love hearing the boos from the home crowd.

"I don’t respect it, honestly,” Lawrence said after the game . “I get it, they want to see their team win. It's just a rough patch. It is what it is."

Lawrence did what he could with a sack, a tackle for loss and a batted pass while the rest of the defense barely made an impact.

To be fair to Lawrence, the fans most likely weren't booing Lawrence as much as they were booing the offense and the rest of the failures as a whole.

Darnold has no issues dicing up the Giants defense. He completed 19-of-24 passes for 208 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a 113.2 passer rating.

Given what the Giants showed on Sunday against a beatable opponent, it's going to be another long season.
