‘Mind yo business,’ fumes Walmart shopper who doesn’t scan everything at self-checkout – but she’s not breaking the law

A WALMART shopper is clapping back at critics who watch her like a hawk as she skips scanning items at the self-checkout.

She had a firm response for haters who look at her like she's misbehaving because she has a specific reason she doesn't scan everything.

In a clip posted to TikTok, @dulitty can be seen glaring at other customers at self-checkout.

The clip, which has received almost 1.4 million views and 1,300 comments, shows the woman packing items up in a Walmart.

The video features a quote from Deion Sanders of Prime Time.

“Look at me,” Sanders is heard saying.

“What about me would make you think I care about your opinion of me?”

The user overlayed the viral video with the real reason she doesn't scan everything.

"Me when people think I’m stealing from Walmart because I’m not scanning everything… whole time it’s prepaid because I’m a Spark Driver,” wrote the social media user.

She captioned the clip, "Mind yo business."

VIEWERS WEIGH IN

Many viewers of the video flocked to the comment section to express their support for the driver.

"I’ve always felt so bad for my Spark Drivers. When customers would tell me, I’d be like, 'Mind ya business,'" wrote one person who appeared to be a Walmart worker based on her comment.

A second person said, "As a cashier at Walmart who works the self-checkout, I’ve had a few people come up to me whispering 'I think that person over there is stealing, they’re just bagging everything without scanning.'"

"Customers tell me all the time 'that person is stealing,'" a third person wrote.

"I go, 'No, they’re a Spark Driver.' And they then go, 'Oh what’s a Spark Driver?'" a third person reported.

The U.S. Sun reached out to the TikToker for comment.

SPARKING CURIOSITY

The Spark Driver app, which is operated by Walmart, functions the same as DoorDash.

It allows shoppers to order on the app and have their goods delivered.

What is a Spark Driver?

Walmart has its own delivery drivers which it refers to as Spark Drivers.

A venture started by Walmart in 2018, Spark Drivers function the same as independent contractors who work for Doordash, Instacart, or Grubhub.

The driver chooses when and where to accept a job.

They then collect goods from Walmart and scan a barcode at checkout.

They are not required to scan each individual item in the order, which sometimes raises eyebrows.

Walmart launched the service in 2018 and it's now available in more than 3,650 cities and all 50 states.

According to the Spark website, drivers are not required to scan every item at checkout.

Instead, they scan a single barcode using their phone.

Walmart writes, "Orders picked up for delivery should have at least one customer label with a bar code attached.

"Scanning the customer labels occurs at both pickup and drop-off to help confirm the right order gets to the right customer."

SPARKS FLY

The U.S. Sun recently reported on an issue Walmart drivers faced which saw the company handing out $70 payments.

An email from Walmart referred to a "system issue" that led to the company not accepting tips that were meant for delivery drivers.

"As part of our continued efforts to improve the Spark Driver platform experience, we identified an issue in the system that prevented us from collecting and issuing tips that certain customers intended to give drivers," a Walmart spokesperson told Business Insider in April.

"Even though customers were never charged for the tips, we are crediting driver accounts with correct tip amounts for affected orders and have made changes within the system that caused this issue."
