Kyler Murray had the opportunity to set the Arizona Cardinals' rebuild in motion correctly.

He led his team to an early 17-3 lead against the reigning AFC East champions, the Buffalo Bills, on their turf. Despite an undermanned defense giving Josh Allen the chance to neutralize that lead, the Cardinals remained in contention.

With 1:56 remaining and three timeouts, Murray regained possession trailing 34-28. He drove Arizona to the Buffalo 39-yard line with 1:10 left, where he eluded Bills defenders and ultimately connected with Greg Dortch for a seven-yard gain and a first down.

The play was satisfactory and yielded a decent result, but it wasn't the optimal outcome.

Ideally, Murray would have spotted Marvin Harrison Jr., who was racing towards the end zone so unguarded that CBS's cameras failed to capture any Bills defender in the same shot.

From the snap to the throw, Murray had approximately seven seconds to decide his target while adeptly navigating pressure. However, it appeared he never considered the highly acclaimed rookie wide receiver, whom Arizona had selected fourth overall.

After four more plays, none of which targeted Harrison, who finished with one reception for four yards from three targets, the Cardinals lost possession on downs, solidifying Buffalo's recovery from a 14-point deficit.

Scoring a touchdown would have tied the game at 34, with the extra point to follow. Although the Bills would have had a minute and two timeouts to respond, Arizona undoubtedly regrets this missed opportunity.

Fans were not impressed with Murray:

"I tried telling people Kyler wasn't good," one fan said .

    "LMAOOOOOOO," another reacted .

"Kyler Murray should be arrested," one fan remarked .

"I’m sick," one fan stated .

The Cardinals will resume play in Week 2, facing off against the Los Angeles Rams.
