Babies and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly. On their own, they're pretty darn cute, but put them together, and it's cuteness overload. Recently, Mustard the Golden Retriever had the divine opportunity to spend time with the family's newest member—his human sister, Makenzie—and it was absolute perfection.

In a September 5, 2024 TikTok video shared by @goldenbabbie, Mustard gets to partake in a little cuddle session with the new baby, and it's magical. This sweet boy had been waiting a whole 3 months to get close to her!

In the 42-second clip that says, "Letting Mustard and Makenzie cuddle for the first time," the Golden basks in the joy of putting his face next to Makenzie's. A few snuggles here and a few gentle licks there, and it's clear Mustard is smitten. Mom is right there to supervise the interaction, but the good boy seems to know how to handle the baby with care.

"Mustard has been waiting 3 months for this," the caption reads and he's loving every second of it. There are multiple clips of Mustard and Golden sister Honey looking after their new sister and it'll really warm your heart. The pups' followers can see already that Mustard will be the best big brother.

"Mackenzie is Mustard's baby now," one person wrote. "Mustard is in LOVE," another said. "2 angels, another added.

There's seriously nothing cuter than a dog and *his* baby!

Golden Retrievers Make Great Fur Siblings

Mustard, like nearly all Goldens, have an unwavering loyalty to their humans. According to The American Kennel Club, this is the right dog breed to add to your family if you're looking for an affectionate, fun-loving, devoted pup who will be right by your side through thick and thin.

Sure, many breeds are the same way, but Goldens were bred as working dogs for obedience and skill making them excellent at being therapy, hunting, or even search and rescue companions.

Though this breed isn't inherently great at being a watch dog—and they hardly ever meet a stranger—their adaptable and eager-to-please nature means they will look out for those they love, including their human siblings. Goldens are typically referenced as being the ideal "family" dog because of how attached they get to their people.

Gentle and patient, Golden Retrievers are the ideal companions for families with or without children and anyone who wants the kind of pup who's just a joy to be around. Mustard is the perfect example of why Goldens are just so special!
