It finally happened, Industry fans. Yasmin Kara-Hanani ( Marisa Abela ) was finally prevailed upon to pee on her aristocrat CEO boyfriend Henry Muck ( Kit Harington ). True to the revolutionary HBO show’s inventive form, the scene did not play out how any of us would have expected! Instead of being a torrid exploration of kink, Yasmn and Henry’s piss play was a weirdly sweet and vulnerable moment for the couple?

According to Industry co-creator Konrad Kay , that was all star Kit Harington’s design…

‘Industry’ Season 3 Episode 5 Recap: Golden Showers Fill Your Eyes

Industry introduced Sir Henry Muck as the idealistic CEO of Lumi, a green energy firm Pierpoint & Co. had invested heavily in, all the way back in the Season 3 premiere. From the get go, he takes a bit of a shine to Yasmin. He doesn’t care that the publishing heiress has become a sordid tabloid fixture thanks to her gross father’s embezzlement scandal. Rather, he seems to taken by her beauty, breeding, and belief in Lumi.

In Industry Season 3 Episode 2 “Smoke and Mirrors,” Pierpoint graduate Sweetpea Golightly (Miriam Petche) drops a key bit of gossip about the spirally Sir Henry Muck. According to Sweetpea, Muck as a urine fetish. Yasmin later uses this information to flirt with Henry by drawing him into a restaurant bathroom to listen to her peeing.

‘Industry’ Star Harry Lawtey Calls This Week’s Episode a “Real Slap in the Face” For Robert Spearing: “He is Just a Pawn”

“I think she’s giving him what she thinks he wants,” Industry star Marisa Abela told Decider of the scene during an interview this summer. “A lot of this stuff in Industry comes down to power, money, and sex. And I think that Yasmin really understands how to yield power and sex.”

Okay, so given that a lot of Industry comes down to power, money, and sex, when and how would Yasmin be asked to pee on her new boyfriend? After all, much like Chekov’s gun, where if you introduce a gun in the first act, it’s got to be fired by the third, a urine fetish has been seeded!

Finally, in Industry Season 3 Episode 5 “Company Man,” we find out what this whole pee thing is all about…and it’s not what we expected.

Early in the episode, Henry and Yasmin are showering together in the same house she shares with on-and-off love interest Robert (Harry Lawtey) and on-and-off friend Harper (Myha’la). He asks her to pee a little on him while they’re holding each other, simply so he can feel it run down his leg in the show. Not only that, but Henry straight up says, “This is the one situation where I get to control my helplessness.”

When Decider spoke to Industry co-creators and co-showrunners Mickey Down and Konrad Kay earlier this year, Kay gave Harington credit for pushing them to humanize Muck’s urine fixation.

“You know, whenever me and Mickey’s big flights of fancy were kind of getting away from us, like the urine fetish, for example, he was always trying to tether it into some sort of truth about the person,” Kay said. “The urine fetish being about control.”

“Because he even intellectualized it as, ‘I’ve lost my dad.’ This is one area where he even says, like, ‘This is where I can sort of understand my relationship with this person,’ through this weird fetish.”

Maybe the moment wasn’t the kink fest you were expecting, but it was a sexy, vulnerable moment for the character. The kind of moment you only get on Industry .
