Edwards was clearly having fun with the kids, and giving the attendees a show. But it is really funny to think that Edwards wouldn't show mercy to the kids he was playing 1-on-1 against. Perhaps he was still in the same mindset he had during the Olympics or the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
Perhaps these dunks, albeit against young children, might give Edwards some confidence ahead of the new NBA season tipping off next month. Edwards and the Timberwolves are hoping to improve on their performance from last season, and perhaps reach the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
Edwards, now entering his fifth NBA season, has firmly cemented himself as the face of the Timberwolves franchise. Last season, he helped the Minnesota Timberwolves secure the third seed in the Eastern Conference and then took his game, and the team's game to another level in the playoffs.
Edwards played a major role in the Timberwolves' sweep of the Phoenix Suns in the first round. Then, the Timberwolves upset the reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets in seven games to reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004.
