Op-Ed: Harris' CNN interview airbrushed her dubious past

"The central conservative truth is culture not politics determines the success of a society. And the central liberal truth is politics can change a culture and save it from itself." – Daniel Patrick Moynihan

Living in a nation that surrendered the jurisdiction and direction of its society to liberal media, we are learning quickly what an inadequate conveyer of truth and damaging gatekeeper liberal media is of our freedom and liberty. When media in tandem tells us the same falsehood over and over again, people think it's the absolute factual truth since it is repeated on social media, the fish-wrap and TV. With liberal fact checkers fact checking liberal media it is hard to find an verify the truth.

For centuries we've depended on media for facts about candidates to make decisions on who to vote for. Since every politician running for office can't wait to get in front of a camera, we depend on live interviews to learn about candidates since they can't be amended. Sadly, the marriage of the left, big business and unions who buy their elections, and with liberal media campaigning for them, voters are brainwashed with false truths and fake news instead of empirical facts about candidates.

George Orwell told us that a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth. That's been the axiom for the last two decades with Democratic agitprop played hourly by liberal media on radio and TV. It's disgraceful to call this advertising since it's nothing more than paid yellow dog rhetoric targeted to move voters far left. Efforts to expose this travesty are thwarted by every conclave of media.

For the first time in U.S. history, a candidate running for the highest office in America refused to give media interviews until liberal media had reprogrammed voters to cover up her radical past.

As a result, Harris' historic interview with CNN was a primetime promenade of disinformation, verifiable fibs, deceitfulness and half truths.

"Half the truth is often a great lie." – Ben Franklin

The first lie was told by CNN, who claimed throughout the 9 p.m. airing that the interview was “live.” Yet it was recorded long before it aired. They foolishly showed clips of the interview on cable news an hour before it was played on TV. There was plenty of time to edit it without anybody knowing it.

Harris' reluctant “interview” was cautiously managed by an ardent campaign booster who allowed her to bring her progressive sidekick and vice presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tin Walz to answer difficult questions. No, this was not a political interview, but a propaganda production to sell a verified far left candidate to moderate U.S. voters.

Kamala Harris disingenuously says she answered questions about flipping and her support for her far left highly unpopular positions. But this isn't even a half truth since she was only superficially questioned, and CNN's Dana Bash failed to expose her fibs, falsehoods and her evasive non-answers.

Bash gave Harris a free pass on hard core issues, allowing her to say, "I changed my mind." When Bash said., "The last time you ran for president you said you'd ban fracking your first day in office.” Harris retorted, “I kept my word and will keep my word." What kind of an answer is that? It was enough for Bash, who moved on.

“Silence is a lie that screams at the light.” – Shannon Alder

Bash gave Harris a multiple-choice quiz, which is a sign the reporter is favoring the interviewee.

After failing to forcefully confront Harris about her failed economy and her support for de-funding the police, she asked Harris about illegal border crossings and her desire to decriminalized them. But now she claims she'll prosecute them? This is a high priority for voters and Harris garbled out a wilted word salad, “I’m the only person in this race who served as a border state attorney general and enforced the laws. I will enforce the laws as president going forward. I recognize the problem.”

Bash pandered to Harris, “How should voters look at all the changes you’ve made in your policies? Is it because you're more experienced and learned more? Or is it because you ran in a presidential primary? Should voters be confident what you’re saying now will be your policies?” Harris simply and obediently nodded yes.

"Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute." – Josh Billings

When Bash quizzed Walz on the myriad lies about his military service, she even apologized before asking the question. Finally Bash groveled about one of Walz's biggest lies, his claim that he fought in combat. Walz nervously conciliated he was bad at grammar, although he was a school teacher for a decade? When he justified his mistake on bad grammar, he was not asked to clarify?

Bash didn't question Walz about his DUI? He was driving 96 mph in a 55 mph zone. He lied about it when running for Congress in 2006. He repeatedly made false statements about his 1995 drunk driving arrest although police records show his blood alcohol level was 0.128, well above the state limit. He claimed he had not been drinking and it was a misunderstanding due to his hearing loss. CNN airbrushed this entire interview with only the most gentle pushbacks from liberal Dana Bash.

Bash apologized even further to Harris and Walz claiming they had not had enough time to prepare answers for their cavalcade of fibs about their political pasts since the campaign came on so suddenly for the both of them. This softened the blow for more whoppers to come from Harris.

She asked about her achievements. Harris said "I'm proud of the work we've done that brought inflation down to less than 3%." Yet Biden drove inflation up to 9%, and it is still higher now than when Donald Trump left office over 3½ years ago. Again, Bash let Harris slide on another big lie.

Harris' most dangerous fibs are her sudden claims for law and order. “I am the only person in this race who has prosecuted transnational criminal organizations who traffic in guns, drugs and human beings.” Yet four years of her border policies allowed millions of illegal aliens to invade our nation.

Trump’s administration did more in modern history to go after the criminal gangs smuggling drugs and humans, including children, across our southern border. Biden and Harris canceled all of his policies and gave control of the border to "criminal organizations,” Harris claims she prosecuted?

Bash allowed Harris a final segue out; Harris explained, “I think the most important and significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values haven't changed.” Whoever can make sense out of Harris' flip-flop testament deserves the booby prize for "speech decoder of the year."

Hand-picked interviewer Bash proved how "contumeliously" the Democratic Party and liberal media are controlling the political, moral and social narrative for America. This was not an interview to help voters make important decisions Election Day. It was a slap in the face of real journalism!

Shame on CNN for wasting the time of so many voters who were looking for a real interview.
