First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Stay tuned today as we’ll have feedback upon further review of the FAMU game from coaches Mario Cristobal, Shannon Dawson and Lance Guidry. You don’t want to miss their perspective.
And, of course, we had you fully covered from Saturday’s game with Gary Ferman’s column, post-game interviews with Mario Cristobal and players, our position by position grading column, Pro Football Focus grades, Gary Ferman answering all your post-game questions on the message board, our game analysis story and much more.
This morning we also have a look at what we’ve learned on the Miami offense through these first two games of the season.
In recruiting?
Who might the Hurricanes target in Florida and Florida State’s 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes? Let’s throw out some names with UM off to a fast start this season and UF and FSU struggling.
Also don’t miss our update with 5-star DJ Pickett off his visit for Miami’s opener vs. FAMU. We caught up with him afterward. Is there a chance there? Plus we have a separate update with Canon Pickett, DJ’s cousin and brother of current Cane Booker Pickett, who also attended the game.
Another in-depth visitor update off the game was with Tampa (Fla.) Armwood linebacker Kellen Wiley. An OV is in the works there. And Miami (Fla.) Southridge 2026 interior offensive lineman Ryan Miret shares his thoughts after a game visit – he may not be ranked yet by three of the four major recruiting databases, but that hasn’t stopped the Hurricanes from showing substantial interest in the 6-foot-4, 285-pound prospect.
Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star safety and Miami commit Hylton “Drake” Stubbs was back in South Florida this weekend to watch the Hurricanes dominate the Florida A&M Rattlers in their 2024 home opener. Get his take also plus what he thinks of UM’s chances with DJ Pickett.
There was also our roundup with a dozen top recruits that visited for the game and shared their take after it ended.
There’s also our Live From The Crib features from over the weekend at the Chaminade-Madonna vs. American Heritage games and Columbus vs. St. Thomas Aquinas games that involved several commits and top prospects. Dont’ miss that.
Plus we catch up with Sanford (Fla.) Seminole four-star 2025 interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan. How’s he feeling about his Miami commitment?
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.
People complaining sound a bit crazy. It’s never going to be perfect but the team took care of business. This is a game you just want to just lean on them and come out healthy. Get some young players some playing time. It’s all good. Gotta watch a couple of the penalties but they did just fine. We won’t know what this team is made of until we see them string a few good wins together in conference.
