Matthew Stafford played for over a decade with the Detroit Lions, so he's very familiar with the atmosphere at Ford Field, where he and the Los Angeles Rams took their first assignment in the 2024 NFL season. However, plenty of fans inside the stadium was not too appreciative of Stafford, as they chanted Jared Goff's name while the Rams were coming out of the tunnel before the game.

Stafford was asked by Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press following the Rams' 26-20 loss to the Lions whether he’s moved on from the Jared Goff chants. The former Georgia Bulldogs star provided a short but definitive answer before quickly fielding another question.

“Yeah, I am,” Goff said (h/t Jeff Riger ).

Stafford and Goff will always be linked, as the two quarterbacks were traded for each other back in 2021. The Rams won a Super Bowl in their first season with Stafford, who passed for 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns with 17 interceptions in the 2021 campaign.

Goff and the Lions, however, got the better of the Rams on Sunday. Goff went 18-for-28 for 217 passing yards and a touchdown plus an interception against the Rams, while Stafford had 317 passing yards and a touchdown along with a pick on 34-for-49 pass completions.
