The Toronto Raptors were the first-ever non-American recipient of the 2019 NBA championship. It was a historic moment for the franchise, with swarms of fans taking to the streets to celebrate. Kawhi Leonard played a primary role in this victory, which ironically was his first and last season with the Canadian team.

Less than a month after winning his second ring, The Klaw signed with the Clippers in free agency. While the move didn't surprise all, there was an inkling of the two-time Finals MVP re-signing, given how Raptors fans showered their love and respect on him. If this weren't enough, the six-time All-Star would be entitled to free VIP treatment for a lifetime, be it restaurants, clubs, barber shops, and much more.

But Kawhi does what he wants, and he does precisely that. Something his former Raptors teammate Pascal Siakam knew about, addressing the sequence of events in an old episode of The Draymond Green Show.

Former Raptors teammate's honest review of Kawhi Leonard signing with the Clippers

Not your quintessential NBA superstar, Kawhi prefers to remain under the radar, only letting his game do all the talking. There are umpteen instances to prove that the 6-foot-7 forward doesn't give the approachable vibe.

Having spent much time with him, Siakam understood Kawhi's conduct. Therefore, the former gave his opinion when asked about his joining the Clippers.

"If there's one person I'll see do that. It will be Kawhi. That will only be the one person I can see doing that cause you know how he conducts his business. The way he is and all the things that he does. It's always like in a particular way."

Siakam admitted that The Klaw's departure was sad and hurt, but he could somewhat see that happening. Raptors President Masai Ujiri's leap of faith was the perfect double-edged sword.

Kawhi Leonard's Clippers stint has been a letdown

Entering his 6th season with the team, Kawhi has been dealing with several injury woes. The two-time champion's partnership with Paul George never saw its full potential.

After PG-13's call to sign with the 76ers, the Clips have slipped several ranks in terms of contending in the West. Nevertheless, a healthy Kawhi could very well flip the switch.
