Following an 18-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was inundated with questions about who would be the starter in Week 2. Tomlin simply answered, “You can come ask me that question on Tuesday."

The game started pretty rough for Fields. Another fumbled snap exchange with the center, and completely missing wide-open receivers in the flat. But after the nerves died down, Fields put together a solid day.

He completed nearly 74 percent of his passes completing 17 of 23 attempts for 156 yards while adding another 57 yards on the ground on 14 carries.

While he didn’t get the Steelers into the endzone, he did get them into scoring range on seven occasions. Chris “Wizard of Boz” Boswell connected on 6-of-6 field goal attempts including three from over 50 yards.

On the other scoring opportunity, the Steelers were deep in Falcons territory on 4th and 2. Instead of trying another field goal attempt, coach Tomlin elected to go for it.

They called for a quarterback sneak, but Fields was unable to gain his footing and the attempt failed for a turnover on downs. At 35, Russell Wilson’s calf injury could linger for quite a while. It took him nearly three weeks to get over it during training camp, and this could be an issue for longer than expected.

Fields at least earned a second chance to start Sunday against the Denver Broncos at 4:25 p.m. ET.
