Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson formed one of the greatest duos of all time playing for the Golden State Warriors. While many expected the Splash Brothers to retire with the Dubs, that dream was shattered following Thompson’s departure from the organization this offseason.

Although Steph and Klay are no longer teammates, fans remain excited to see them share the court in any role possible. Keeping that in mind, the four-time NBA champions were recently united during the Los Angeles Aces vs. New York Liberty clash in the WNBA.

Curry made a hilarious face upon seeing Thompson

Following his departure from the organization he called home for his entire playing career, Thompson signed a three-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. Klay attended the Aces vs. Liberty game with his new teammate, Derreck Lively II.

Curry was coincidently present at the highly anticipated game as well. The two-time NBA MVP noticed his former teammate chatting with Lively II and had a hysterical reaction to it.

It was obvious that the Baby-Faced Assassin was joking. After all, the two stars have developed a brotherly bond throughout their time with the Warriors.

However, it will still be bizarre for longtime Dubs fans to see Curry and Thompson play against each other. The two stars are bound to face off on November 12, 2024, as a part of the group stage matchup for the NBA In-Season Cup.

Thompson used Curry to stay motivated

It goes without saying that Steph losing Thompson was an emotional moment for the 36-year-old . While Curry has been somewhat more vocal about it, fans haven’t seen or heard the same from Klay.

At the end of the day, losing his teammate of 11 years will have a huge toll on the now-Mavs star. Speaking of their time together, Klay revealed how chasing Steph helped him become a better version of himself .

“Trying to chase Steph. That’s how you stay hungry. Try to do what he does. I can’t do that. I don’t think anyone on this planet can,” Thompson once said .

During his stint with the Dubs, Thompson averaged 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 45.3% from the field and 41.3% from the three-point line.

The Mavericks will hope that the 34-year-old can put up these numbers for them once the new season is underway. Considering the five-time NBA All-Star will be paired with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Mavs are undoubtedly one of the favorites to win it all next season.
