Jax Taylor is back on air and sharing his side of the story. The Vanderpump Rules alum made headlines after announcing his decision to seek in-patient treatment at a mental health facility at the end of July.

The decision coincided with his estrangement from Brittany Cartwright in February of this year, as well as Jax’s own hopes of working on himself for the sake of his three-year-old son Cruz.

Now, The Valley star is opening up about his stay at the facility. Jax also shared the emotions he experienced when leaving.

Jax Taylor felt a certain comfort being “in that world”

On a recent episode of When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, the VPR alum revealed that he was “so scared” to check out

“I didn’t wanna f–king leave, I really, really didn’t,” he told his guest, and friend, Scott Kaufman.“I was so sad leaving. I was crying. I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna go.’”

“I was scared to leave those front doors because [I had] structure every day,” he explained. “I knew what I was doing, I was reading, I was in that world.”

Certainly, one could empathize with the comfort of an insulated world and the unwillingness to return and face issues. Scott, a life coach, was sympathetic to Jax’s feelings.

“I was like, ‘God, I know the real world’s gonna hit me like a ton of bricks and I’ve got to go back to filming my show and I know everybody’s mad at me and they’re gonna come at me,’” the Bravolebrity shared.

Ultimately, Jax had to get back to film Season 2. Returning to a normal life has been challenging, but not impossible.

Jax said, “And I was just like, ‘I’m so scared. I’m so scared.’ And it’s been happening but I’ve been dealing with it but it’s scary.”

Jax admits to being a “work in progress”

His reality now is dealing with divorce from Brittany, who filed on August 27 citing “irreconcilable differences.” Days later, Jax announced that medical professionals at the rehab facility diagnosed him with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday,” Jax shared.

Though his in-patient stay ended, he is still “a work in progress.” Jax admitted that “it’s scary to work on yourself” and “to tell people that you have problems.”

He added, “I now have a little bit better understanding of my mental health struggles. I’ve been put on some serious medication that’s actually been helping me out a lot.”

Jax won’t share any more details about his healing journey now, though he promised to “speak more about it openly” when the time is right.

“But right now I kind of just need to deal with this process,” he concluded.

The Valley is streaming on Peacock.

This loser and his fat, overfilled face! 😂 He’s a loser, thief, liar, and sorry excuse for a man. Brittney grew up and grew out of this good-for-nothing POS. 😂
