C-Mac: Giants blowout loss was an indictment on 'scared' Brian Daboll

Chris McMonigle steered much of his Giants frustration towards Daniel Jones after Sunday’s disastrous season-opening loss, but he also made sure that Brian Daboll didn’t escape criticism after Big Blue’s offense looked inept once again.

“That doesn’t forgive the coach, who took over the play calling and reverted right back to what he was last year. Scared Brian Daboll,” C-Mac said.

“We heard all off-season long that they were gonna take deep shots, and Malik Nabers, Jalin Hyatt, and Wan’Dale Robinson were gonna run down the field, and Daniel Jones wasn’t gonna play the same safe, not-make-mistakes crap that has been beaten into his head.”

Instead, there was only one pass beyond 20 yards all game, and Big Blue failed to log a single touchdown against a Vikings defense that they torched in the playoffs two years ago. C-Mac saw a scheme from Daboll that looked nothing like the offense fans were being told about during training camp, and says that is an indictment on Daboll himself.

“They are completely inept, including this head coach…Brian Daboll had nothing to say about his offense and his team looking the way they did,” C-Mac said.

“Something has left this man. This was aggressive coach going for two in his first game as head coach…we’re seeing a coach who is either afraid to call plays down the field or has a quarterback who can’t see things down the field.”
