Angela Bassett has won her first Emmy.

Over the weekend, the Television Academy held two nights of ceremonies for the Creative Arts Emmys , honoring achievements in choreography, casting, game-show hosting, stunts, music, and more.

Bassett, 66, won the Emmy Award for Best Narrator for her work on the National Geographic docuseries Queens. During Saturday's (September 7) ceremony at Los Angeles' Peacock Theatre, Bassett said the win "feels good … really, really good.”

She thanked “National Geographic, Wildstar Films and all the directors — all women! — who brought this incredible story, this incredible docuseries centered on the ferocious and magnificent things in the animal kingdom.”

“I couldn’t be more thrilled and more grateful,” Bassett added. “Thank you, each and every one of you.”

Bassett's first Emmy comes after she accepted an honorary Oscar for her contributions to the film industry earlier this year, which marked her first Academy Award. The Black Panther star had been nominated for an Emmy nine times before her first win.

During Sunday's (September 8) ceremony for the Creative Arts Emmys, Michaela Coel was also awarded Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith .
