A blaze in San Bernardino has burned over 20,000 acres and forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued evacuation orders for the area from Calle Del Rio to Highway 38, the areas of Running Spring east of Highway 330 and south of Highway 18, and Mountain Home Village. For the full list of evacuations, click here .

The areas given evacuation warnings include Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks, communities of Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Valley of Enchantment, and Church Street east to the city limit and from the foothills south to Greenspot Road. Rick Carhart, the spokesperson for Cal Fire, told KNX News’ Jon Baird that fire officials were concerned for the Running Springs community.

“So far we've been able to keep the fire out of the community.  It's burning up fairly close to it, but it didn't look like it really got a whole lot closer to it yesterday than it was at the end of Saturday,” he said. “And so that's been a pretty big success for us…keeping it out of that community. That's the one community that is right in the immediate path of the fire.”

No structures have been damaged at this time, however, 36,000 structures are being threatened by the fire.

Several school districts in the area canceled classes on Monday, including all schools in the Redlands and Yucaipa-Calimesa districts. Officials say they will monitor conditions throughout the day and decide later afternoon whether to cancel classes on Tuesday.

San Bernardino, Bear Valley, and Colton Joint Union Districts will remain open, but students will stay indoors.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
