Is Will Levis already in danger of losing Titans job to Mason Rudolph?

After so much offseason hype in Nashville, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis threw up a total dud in Week 1 en route to a 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears .

The Titans were cruising in the first half, staking themselves to a 17-3 lead going into the break. But things went completely off the rails over the final two quarters, and Levis played the biggest role in that.

The Kentucky product tossed a pair of interceptions, one of which resulted in a pick-six, and he lost a fumble. The Bears scored 10 points off two Levis turnovers, and they sealed their win on the third pick from the former second-round selection.

“Just a bonehead play," Levis said of his interception, per John Glennon of Nashville Post . "I think recency bias from getting away with it the last time I did it in a game. Just trying to throw it in the dirt, and when you’re getting taken down, you don’t know what’s going to happen to the ball as it comes out.”

Is Will Levis in danger of losing Titans job?

As we watched Levis cough up the game and spoil what was a sensational defensive effort, it certainly crossed the mind of more than one Titans fan that Mason Rudolph likely would have gotten the Titans to the finish line.

Which begs the question: Is Will Levis already in danger of losing his starting job?

It's something the Titans have to at least be thinking about after what we saw Sunday, but it's not a move this team is going to make right away. One game isn't enough to sink Levis, who the team envisions as its quarterback of the future.

But if he continues to hold this team back as egregiously as he did in Week 1, it won't be long before Rudolph gets the football.
