2024 Procore Championship odds, picks, field: Surprising predictions from golf model that's nailed 13 majors
By CBS Sports Staff,

The kickoff event of the FedExCup Fall series has arrived, with the 2024 Procore Championship set to begin on Thursday at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Sahith Theegala won his first PGA Tour title at this event last year, shooting a final-round 68 to clinch the tournament. He is the 11-1 favorite in the 2024 Procore Championship odds, followed by Wyndham Clark (12-1) and Corey Conners (14-1). Should you back any of those golfers with your 2024 Procore Championship bets?
Two-time champion Max Homa is also in the 2024 Procore Championship field after finishing seventh last year. Homa is a six-time PGA Tour winner who is coming off a T33 finish in the BMW Championship and is set to play in the Presidents Cup on the United States Team. Before locking in your 2024 Procore Championship picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
This same model has also nailed a whopping 13 majors entering the weekend, including the 2024 Masters -- its third Masters in a row -- and this year's PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.
One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2024 Procore Championship: Wyndham Clark (12-1), the 2023 U.S. Open champion and one of the top favorites, stumbles this week and doesn't even crack the top five. Clark did not get much of a break following the Tour Championship earlier this month, when he finished eighth at 17 under. This event will not mean as much to him as some of the other golfers in the field, as Clark has established himself as one of the top players in the sport.
The 30-year-old only has three wins in more than 170 PGA Tour starts during his career, despite routinely finishing inside the top 10 over the last two seasons. He ranks outside the top 75 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained approaching the green, driving accuracy and GIR percentage. SportsLine's model has Clark finishing outside the top five, suggesting that there is no value at his current odds. See who else to fade here.
Another surprise: Keith Mitchell, a 30-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. Mitchell made the cut in 16 of 22 events played this season, cracking the top 25 in 10 of those tournaments. He finished T12 at the Wyndham Championship in his latest event, and he posted a pair of top-10 finishes early in the season.
Mitchell has not played in a month, which gives him a rest advantage compared to some of the top golfers in the field who participated in the playoffs. He is currently sitting at 77th in the FedExCup standings, giving him plenty of motivation to do well this week. Mitchell ranks 14th on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained this season, making him an undervalued golfer to back in the Procore Championship. See who else to back here.
How to make 2024 Procore Championship picks
The model is also targeting two other golfers with odds of 30-1 or longer who will make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model's picks here .
