The Treasure Coast city of Stuart is expected to give a final vote today on whether or not to allow a Brightline station to be built.

City Commission chambers are expected to be packed at 4 p.m. as many residents and business owners say they thought it was a "done deal" after the high-speed rail line back in March announced it had chosen Stuart to be the new home of a station.

But at issue with officials having second thoughts is a possible $30 million price tag for taxpayers.

However, Stuart's mayor says he expects the deal to remain intact and believes the station will be built through grants at a significantly lower cost.

Martin County is part of the proposal and they plan to give a final vote tomorrow.
