Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio had seemingly made it clear that Isaiah Rodgers would be the team's starting cornerback to begin the year.

That plan was seemingly foiled in Week 1 when the former Indianapolis Colt suffered a hand injury that kept him out of the team's 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.

While Rodgers could be expected to jump right back into the fold in the starting lineup, some fans questioned why the team would make him a late scratch after seemingly dealing with his injury all week in a limited capacity.

Rodgers made sure those thoughts were denied immediately.

"You think I’ll come this far to be a Healthy Scratch???," Rodgers said in a tweet response. "I worked toooo hard all year and Training camp to be a healthy scratch, bro. It’s football, injuries happen. I tried everything I could to be out there this week. I’ll rather be 100% then 50% for my team and the fans."

With Quinyon Mitchell excelling in his first start outside, the Eagles will need to decide between the 22nd overall pick outside or putting him in the slot.

Either way, Rodgers' time of being away from the field shouldn't be too much longer.
