Las Vegas Raiders' offensive line was as bad as it looked, PFF stats show

One of the biggest issues the Las Vegas Raiders had in Week 1 was the offensive line, which no doubt struggled in pass protection, leading to quarterback Gardner Minshew getting sacked four times.

But it was more than just about the four sacks, as Minshew was under duress for much of the afternoon, something the Pro Football Focus stats highlight.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Raiders surrendered 16 pressures against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, with left guard Cody Whitehair (five), left tackle Kolton Miller (four) and C Andre James (three) leading the pack.

Miller gave up a pair of sacks, while James and right guard Dylan Parham were credited with one each. Whitehair didn't give up any sacks, but those five pressures are certainly concerning and Las Vegas needs second-round pick Jackson Powers-Johnson to get ready to go in a hurry.

Raiders offensive line stats Week 1

Here's a look at the full pass protection report, along with the pass-blocking grade each player listed received from PFF.

LG Cody Whitehair: 5 pressures (47.5)

LT Kolton Miller: 4 pressures, 2 sacks (65.2)

    C Andre James: 3 pressures, 1 sack (43.2)

RG Dylan Parham: 2 pressures, 1 sack (75.2)

RT Thayer Munford Jr.: 1 pressure (69.5)

RB Alexander Mattison: 1 pressure (45.8)

In fairness to Miller, he didn't have a full offseason after having shoulder surgery , so it might take him some time to fully get into the swing of things. He gets a pass for now, but he's going to have to improve quickly.

Right tackle Thayer Munford Jr. was the biggest concern along the offensive line going into the regular season, but, believe it or not, the one pressure he gave up was the fewest among Raiders offensive linemen. Running back Alexander Mattison was the only non-offensive lineman to give up a pressure.

Now, let's run through the Raiders' best and worst Pro Football Focus grades from Sunday. We've also included coverage and pass-rush statistics
