Jake Roberts is excited about his first touchdown with the Sooners

It wasn’t the blowout win from Week One but the Oklahoma Sooners still beat Houston 16-12. Transfer Jake Roberts scored his first touchdown for the Sooners.

Jake spoke to the media after the game about scoring his first touchdown and the mood in the locker room.

You got your first touchdown tonight. How does it feel?

Jake: Awesome, really excited. Just thankful to be able to make a play and do it in front of the home crowd.

Take us through that play. Did you have an idea maybe the ball was coming to you?

Jake: Yeah, that’s how it’s drawn up. It was supposed to go to me but you know, things don’t always go as planned. But that time I was lucky. I was ready to make a play. Jackson threw a great ball and I was wide open.

What’s the mood like with the offense right now after a disappointing night?

Jake: Yeah, it’s obviously disappointing but a win’s a win. We’re thankful to get them how they come. It’s hard to win in college football but as an offense, we know we just have to improve and get better. There’s no one step fix or way to make it happen overnight. It’s just going to take us coming in, going to work every day and focusing on making each other better.
