On Sunday in the Las Vegas Raiders' first game of the season, which was a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the two rivals had a situation happen that I'm sure neither head coach was proud of. Antonio Pierce, the Raiders head coach, certainly wasn't as he addressed it after the game.

There was a fight that broke out following a failed two-point conversion attempt by the Chargers. After the play, Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones got into a physical confrontation in the end zone, away from the main action, after Mike Epps was thrown to the ground.

This initial skirmish quickly escalated as players from both teams rushed to defend their teammates, leading to a larger brawl, well, almost a brawl. Both Joshua Palmer and Jack Jones were ejected from the game due to their involvement in throwing punches. This was one of the first notable ejections of the 2024 NFL season.

The Chargers were leading 22-10 at the time of the incident, which occurred with just over three minutes left in the game. The fight didn't alter the game's outcome, as the Chargers went on to win.

Following the game, there were reports of fights breaking out among fans, suggesting the on-field tension spilled over into the stands, though this aspect involves fan behavior and isn't directly tied to the player's actions. All in all, it wasn't a great situation.

Luckily, the league has decided not to suspend any Raiders players after reviewing the incident. However, there could be fines. The Raiders defense is already thing at the moment, so, a suspension certainly wouldn't help. The Baltimore Ravens will be a tough out next week.
