Starting Monday, September 16, 2024, Caltrans Bay Area-District 4 will be conducting emergency barrier repairs on the I-80 Freeway in San Francisco. The repairs will take place nightly from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, affecting both eastbound and westbound lanes, including the Bayshore I-80 and Central Freeway US-101 viaduct.

Motorists should anticipate significant traffic delays as one lane in each direction will remain open. For real-time updates, drivers can use the Caltrans QuickMap available at QuickMap.

    Alternate Routes:

    • Northbound US-101 to Eastbound I-80: Take I-280 to King St., then left onto 2nd St., and use Bryant St. or Harrison St. on-ramp.
    • Westbound I-80 to Southbound I-280: Off-ramp at 5th St. & Harrison, then left onto 6th St. and southbound I-280 on-ramp.
    • Westbound I-80 to Southbound US-101: Off-ramp at 5th St. & Harrison, then continue to 9th St. and southbound US-101 on-ramp.
