The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dominated the Washington Commanders on their way to a 37-20 victory at home in Week 1 on Sunday. A big part of the reason was the play of quarterback Baker Mayfield, who tossed four touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over a single time.

A part of that was also the play of Mike Evans, who caught two of those touchdown passes. Evans ended up catching five passes for 61 yards and those two scores in the game.

The first touchdown catch was a rather miraculous grab over the back of the defender ... with him right in Evans' face. Mayfield said that he just doesn’t understand how his teammate just continues to be great.

“I don’t know how he does it, man,” Mayfield said. “Just trying to put the ball in his vicinity. First of all, I don’t know how he got around him and put his paws on it, but somehow, he did.

"And that’s what he does. That second touchdown to him was not really a good throw at all, he made an unbelievable play again. It’s just one-on-one coverage with Mike, those aren’t 50/50 balls.

    “It’s leaning towards Mr. Evans.”

Evans and Mayfield have grown quite the connection and will be a tough pair to stop this season.

The Bucs will travel to Detroit in a rematch of last year’s Divisional Round matchup with the Lions on Sunday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
