Robert Spears-Jennings talks about OU being battle tested and growing from the experience

Robert Spears-Jennings had a good game on Saturday against Houston. He helped lead the defense with five tackles including one tackle for a loss.

Robert Spears-Jennings spoke to the media about playing a close game and recovering from his shoulder injury.

Robert, you’ve been a special teams ace the past couple of years. What’s it like seeing a young guy like G Carter doing what he’s able to do these last couple of weeks?

Robert: It feels great! He’s just going out there and balling, week in and week out. So just seeing that makes me proud.

Do you feel like it was good for you guys to have a close game like this where every possession matters so much?

Robert: I feel like we did. I felt like it showed our weaknesses and what we’ve got to work on.

How worried were you about your shoulder?

Robert: I really wasn’t worried about my shoulder. If you worry about your shoulder, another injury might happen. So I just come in there, head down and try to work.
