Wendy's in Palm Harbor, Florida, was cited for 6 violations in Pinellas County

    2024-09-09

The Wendy's location at 750 E Lake Rd S in Palm Harbor, Florida, was cited for six violations, including three high-priority infractions, during a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. While the Pinellas County restaurant was not forced to close, a follow-up inspection was required to address these concerns.

The initial inspection on September 5 revealed issues with cleanliness, temperature control, and the presence of live insects. While the follow-up inspection showed improvements and met inspection standards on September 9 the restaurant remains under observation due to ongoing concerns about flying insects.

State records revealed three high-priority violations alongside one intermediate and two basic violations during the first review.

Notably, the presence of live flying insects in multiple areas posed a significant concern. Additionally, incidents of certain food items being stored at temperatures exceeding the correct degrees were also highlighted.

Moreover, cracked shell eggs were discovered, requiring immediate corrective action. Basic violations such as ice pileups in freezers and soiled nonfood-contact surfaces were also noted, but these ranked lower on the haste scale.

A follow-up inspection conducted on September 9 found that while the restaurant still had three existing violations, they were working towards compliance. The establishment is provided additional time to rectify the fly and temperature control problems.

This Wendy's maintains a 3.7-star rating from 787 reviews on Google, indicating mixed feedback from patrons.

Local residents are encouraged to stay informed about the restaurant's compliance status through updates from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

    • High Priority Violations:
      • Live, small flying insects in the kitchen
      • Shell eggs with cracks or broken shells
      • Time/temperature control violations for cold food
