McVay Gives Injury Update on Puka Nacua and More, 2 Expected To Hit IR

The Los Angeles Rams are facing significant challenges after several injuries during their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. On Monday morning head coach Sean McVay announced Wide receiver Puka Nacua will go on the injured reserve list with a knee injury, while offensive linemen Steve Avila and Joe Noteboom also left the game early.

McVay Confirms, Puka Nacua To Miss At Least 4 Weeks

Nacua had a breakout rookie season in 2023, and was expected to follow up with an even more electric season. He caught all four passes that were thrown his way, picking up 35 yards, and rushed for seven more years on one carry. Now he will miss at least four weeks with a PCL injury.

Nacua, who dealt with a meniscus injury in his knee seemed to aggravate that same injury. He was listed as questionable to return. He was able to make it back to the field, but that was short-lived as he was on the bench for the last push into Lions territory. After the half, it was reported that Nacua was ruled out.

Noteboom required a cart to leave the field. He was also listed as questionable but did not return in the first half. AJ Arcuri replaced him. Noteboom was filling in for A. Jackson, while suspended. McVay said he suffered a high ankle sprain. McVay said he will be week-to-week.

After halftime, it was announced that left guard Steve Avila was injured and would not return to the game. The Rams are considering adding him to the IR as well. Jonah Jackson moved to left guard from center and rookie 7th-round draft pick Beaux Limmer was put in at center.

Kevin Dotson is considered day-to-day with a lateral sprain.
