Post Malone and Lainey Wilson are two of the hottest names in country music today. Wilson is the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year and just released one of the best country albums of the year in Whirlwind. Malone, on the other hand, has been one of the biggest artists in the world for nearly a decade. His debut country album F-1 Trillion made waves with its long list of collaborations.

The collaborations on the album included Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., Tim McGraw, Wilson, and many others. Wilson appears on the track “Nosedive.” Before the album dropped, the duo sang it together during Malone’s Grand Ole Opry debut.

Wilson and Malone didn’t just collaborate on the song though. In a recent interview, the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer revealed that they have formed a friendship of sorts behind the scenes.

Lainey Wilson on What Post Malone Calls Her

Most friends are on a first-name basis. Others may have nicknames for one another. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Lainey Wilson and Post Malone.

“Do I need to call him Post or Austin?” Wilson wondered aloud during the interview. “I just call him Post but… he calls me Lainey Wilson,” she added.

“Any time he sees me, he’s like, ‘I love you, Lainey Wilson’ or ‘I’ll see you later, Lainey Wilson.’ It’s the cutest thing,” she said.

Wilson Joins Post Malone for an Album Highlight

Written by Post Malone, Luke Combs, ERNEST, Billy Walsh, Charlie Handsome, Louis Bell, and James McNair, “Nosedive” is a highlight on F-1 Trillion. At its heart, the song is about finding the silver linings in life’s hard times. Lines like Sometimes the picture, it ain’t perfect / But there’s learnin’ in the hurtin’ / Sick of bearing all the burden / Every thorn has its rose drive the point home.

Fans will get to hear Malone perform “Nosedive” and other cuts from his debut country album as he traverses the country on his F-1 Trillion Tour. The trek kicked off in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater over the weekend. The tour will keep him on the road until mid-October when he wraps things up at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
