It’s been 20 years since the Boston Red Sox shocked the sports world by winning the 2004 World Series, and Netflix has announced the premiere date for its docuseries revisiting that incredible season.

The streaming service announced Monday that The Comeback: The 2004 Boston Red Sox will premiere Oct. 23. The three-episode series, announced earlier this year , will recap the adventures of that team, which won Boston’s first World Series championship since 1918. To make everything even sweeter, the Red Sox rallied from a 3-0 deficit to their bitter rival New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series en route to the World Series.

Highlights include interviews with many of the team’s principal characters, including players Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, and Kevin Millar, former manager Terry Francona, and former GM and VP Theo Epstein.

Colin Barnicle directed the series, and Meadowlark Media and Barnicle Brothers produced it in association with MLB.

Earlier this year, Netflix announced another Red Sox project, an all-access series following the exploits of the 2024 team. That series will air in 2025 and has already drawn plenty of speculation and buzz .
