Fans in Disbelief Over Simone Biles' New Gymnastics Skill

Simone Biles cemented her status as the best gymnast in the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Biles, who became the first woman to ever win the all-around title twice in nonconsecutive Olympics, returned home as the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history.

While it's unclear whether Biles will return to compete at the 2028 Olympics Games in Los Angeles, she's currently focused on celebrating her much-earned success. The 27-year-old threw out of the first pitch at the Texas Rangers game, attended the US Open in New York City, and watched as her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, scored the team's first touchdown of the season during their home opener against the Tennessee Titans on September 8.

However, the 11-time Olympic medalist was back in the gym on September 9, as she's preparing to headline the "Gold Over America Tour," which kicks off next week. While rehearsing with several members of the U.S. men's national team, Biles tried out her pommel horse skills and absolutely crushed her flares.

Women do not compete on the pommel horse, nor do they perform flares during their floor routines like the men do. However, Biles had no problem with the acrobatic move.

One woman commented , "Whoa…." while another fan posted , "No way."  One person reposted the video and wrote , "ARE YOU JOKING???" Another person asked , "Wait she woulda ate Stephen up too?"

Team USA's Stephen Nedoroscik, a.k.a. "The Pommel Horse Guy," won bronze during the individual final on the apparatus in Paris. While Nedoroscik was initially included as performer on the "Gold Over America Tour," he pulled out in order to compete on ABC's competition reality series, "Dancing With the Stars."

Overall, it should come as no surprise that Biles can perform skills typically performed by men. The vault she successfully landed at the Paris Olympics, the Yurchenko double pike, is so difficult that few men have attempted the skill in competition.
