The Los Angeles Dodgers have promoted veteran left-hander Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City for the sixth time this season, while sending rookie Justin Wrobleski back to the minors.

In a related move, the team designated right-hander Michael Petersen for assignment.

Ramirez, who was previously designated for assignment on July 30, returns to the Dodgers after a challenging season.

The 35-year-old was acquired from the New York Yankees on April 2 and has had a rollercoaster year, being recalled and optioned multiple times.

He has a 6.75 ERA over seven games with the Dodgers, without any wins or losses. In Triple-A, he has performed better, posting a 4.65 ERA with a 3-1 record across 25 games. In those outings, he’s given up eight runs, with opposing hitters batting .311 against him.

Petersen, 30, made his MLB debut with the Dodgers in June after signing as a minor league free agent.

He started strong but struggled in his last outing, allowing three runs in one inning against the Angels. His overall stats with the Dodgers include a 6.43 ERA in 14 innings over 11 appearances.

Wrobleski, 24, pitched two scoreless innings in the Dodgers' recent win against the Guardians.

He's 1-2 with a 6.40 ERA in seven appearances this season. Nearly half of those runs came in a rough Sept. 1 start against the Diamondbacks, where he was tagged for 10 runs over 5.1 innings.

The Dodgers now have a week to decide Petersen's future, whether that means trading him, sending him to the minors, or placing him on waivers.
